Ojai Day and the Pumpkin Patch

So yesterday was Ojai day and we had a great time. I always love Ojai day. Its like a big block party in the middle of downtown and you always run into other friends and their families because its such a small town. Campbell jumped in the Jolly Jump and actually climbed the slide and went down it all by himself. It helped that there was another girl from his school doing it too and they would slide down together. This is a big deal for him as he has always been pretty scared of these things and we were kind of shocked seeing him slide down without one of us.

Last night Cassie did well. She woke at 1:30. I gave her blanket back to her and she went right back down. At 5:30 she woke again, I fed her and back down she went quietly till a bit before 8:00.

We went to the Farmer's Market this morning and picked up a basket of Raspberries that the kids proceeded to chow down while listening to a local fiddle band. While I sat with the kids listening to the music Ryan picked up some vegetables. We then went to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin to carve and a couple little ones. I did learn that next time I should not put Cass in light colored clothes because she got quite dirty! I apologize for going overboard on posting pictures but I love so many of them I have to share! It was great because I didn't have to place them in spots for pics most of the time! Cass just loved sitting on the pumpkins!

And for those that want to see all the pictures and pictures I've taken over the last couple weeks I am putting the link here:

An update on cry it out

Well, last night went much better than expected! I was so relieved as I was so tired last night.

She has been waking lately at 2:00 and did not wake until 3:30. Since I fell asleep in Campbell's bed at 9:30 I was rested and ready for it! Poor Cassie cried or rather screamed for half an hour. Then it got quiet and she cried off and on for about half an hour. At that time, I went in and gave her her paci and her blanket and she went to sleep. She woke again at 6:30. I nursed her and put her back in bed. She woke for the day at 8:45! I can't remember the last time she was in the bed that late!

So hopefully this will be the start of a new sleep pattern and tonight will be a little bit easier.

Today is Ojai day and its a big party downtown. They close the main road and have booths everywhere and music and games and jolly jumps and things set up so we will go there and spend some time!

Cry it out...

Well, the time has come to try and cry it out with little Miss Cassidy. She is starting to wake up more in the middle of the night and momma is about to lose her mind. She is getting in the habit of wanting to nurse when she wakes in the night and I just do it to save from hearing her ear piercing scream. Some don't understand just how loud that scream gets! I might have to put some video up just so they do. Anyway, cross your fingers that we are not up all night listening to screaming and that I do not cave in to it! I feel bad about it but I reached my limit at 5:00 this morning. Once we get this under control we will be working on the daytime screams...

I'll keep ya updated!

Shoes!!

So Cassie is a true girly girl and already gets excited about shoes! She sees some and she wants them on instantly! Last night after her bath she saw shoes and wanted them on so here is some video of her walking a little better with her shoes on. She's getting quite steady at walking! Pleae excuse the mess in the house! I swear we do pick up! It just always seems to come right back.

And next her excitement at her shoes!

She's a walker...

She may not be a steady walker but she's a walkin! Cassidy has done a lot of work on her walking this week and it is so stinking cute in my opinion! It cracks me up because she walks like she is drunk! We are taking it all in because before too long she'll be an expert walker and she wont have that wobbly walk anymore. Here is some video of her last night. Not the best quality and more stumbling than usual because she was exhausted at this point. I actually had to cut some of it because the video was too long to upload here.

Campbell finally decided on a halloween costume. He is going to be Buzz Lightyear. We tried to pick it up yesterday but they didn't have his size. They said they had them offsite so they will hold it for us till we can get back to Ventura to get it. I have to say if someone wants to be a Disney Character, they are the best place to go! The quality is so much better than what you see at these other costume stores and then they have them on sale at Halloween time! Who does that? Cassidy is going to be a fairy princess. We have gotten some purple fairy wings and a friend is making her a tutu!

That's about all going on in our world right now. Have a good week!
