A picture I couldn't pass up

A couple weeks ago, we brought out Campbell's old tricycle. Cassie is loving it! She insists on wearing Campbell's helmet and last night found some old sunglasses she wanted on as well! Result: One of the funniest and cutest pictures I've had! Guess I need to get Campbell a new helmet! His is really too small anyway...

Pre-K Graduation

Campbell graduated from Pre-K Friday, June 12, 2009. This was Campbell's first official graduation! His Pre-K teacher was Miss Lori above. It was so much fun to watch. They came in singing a song in military style. Cassidy got excited watching them march in and continued to yell "Hi Campbell" in the beginning untill we had to take her in the back because she didn't want to stay still. I have to note that "Hi Campbell" sounds like "Hi Bambell" We got most of the ceremony on video but I don't have the right equipment to get it on the computer. I'm working on it but it will take some time. Ryan kept up with Cassie so I was manning the video so I did not get many pictures and I was not able to figure out the lighting on the ones I did so the lighting is pretty bad. I remember that being a problem during their Christmas program too. They sang a song about "Remarkable Cows" and had cow noses. I don't have a picture of that one. They then sang a song about Ducks with their glasses and Duck bills. They then sang a reworded "Start spreading the news" about Kindergarten that was very cute. Finally, they received their diplomas.

Next year Campbell will go to the Elementary school right behind our house. We decided to put him in the Transitional Kindergarten. This class is for those old enough for Kindergarten but not quite ready. I think this will give Campbell and additional year to mature before starting the rigors of school.

And now the pics:

Miss Terra was Campbell's teacher for quite some time and probably one of the few people who may have understood my frustration when potty training Campbell because she lived it with me! She was his teacher when he moved to the Red Bird Room at 18 months. She moved up to the Yellow Duck Room after a brief time but she was in there when he moved up at almost 2. She then moved up with them to the Blue Horses which was the 3's class. She was a big part of his life for 2.5 years!

Cassidy is finally weaned!

Okay, so this blog is my way of documenting things as well as updating family and friends. I know this is a topic many don't relate to but I felt it was an important thing to note. I kind of let Cassidy wean herself from nursing at her own pace but had a limit of 2 years. She has been down to once before bed for quite sometime. It had moved to once every few days and once she got over recent teething and ear infection decided it was time. She has a time with it briefly but then gets over it. I thought I would be sad when it was all over as she was my last but I think it was time for it to be done. I did love nursing and it was my bonding time with my baby girl. I enjoyed it with Campbell as well but it was different as he self weaned at 13/14 months. Breastfeeding was something I wasn't sure I was comfortable with before Campbell was born but it became something important to me with my kids. When we decided that Cassidy had a milk sensitivity, many encouraged me to find a formula but I am proud of myself for finding a way to make it work and continue.

Next plan would be to eliminate the paci from bedtime. Will deal with that later though.

Trip to the zoo

Ryan was out of town a couple weeks ago so I met a friend and went to the zoo. I didn't get many pics but here are a couple while on the train. For some reason Cassie gets scared when she first gets on the train...

I think I managed to wear them out as it is very rare for Campbell to fall asleep in the car these days....

The kids miss their Uncle Colt

Uncle Colt spent a few months here while working at the local tennis academy. The kids really enjoyed their time with him and would run to him every time he stopped by. He was also great about coming by and helping entertain them when Ryan would be out of time. The other day I said "cold" and Cassie perked up and said "COLT?" We appreciated all his help with the kids over the last few months and we all miss having him around.

Catching up-Beach, Pool, Playground

Well I am very behind on posting so I apologize. I think I'm going to start by getting some of the pics up from mom and dad's visit over a MONTH ago. Many have already seen these but I want to have them on here. Yes I know...I'm that behind....

I know Grandma and Papa Gaston are especially anxious for more recent pictures. And I will try to be back in a bit to add those. At the moment, Campbell is very anxious for undivided attention.
Pre-K graduation post is to come....
