When will the fall weather come!?!?

It's supposed to be 101 here today! Needless to say we are trying to stay indoors. After the gym, I took the kids to storytime at the library and now we are a little bored. With the A/C acting up in the car, I'm not really jumping to get into it.

Things are going well with us.

Cassidy is growing like a weed. Seriously, can someone tell her to stop already. We met up with some of our friends last week and ever since she has been trying her hardest to walk. Of course everytime I start to record it, she plops on her bottom. I did just manage to capture just a few steps that I'm uploading for you! She usually starts out trying to walk, loses her balance and then crawls. Its really cute. Her not so cute trait now is growling when someone messes with her or takes her away from something she is playing with. I'm sure she picked some of that attitude up from big brother. She has decided she LOVES shoes. If she sees some she wants us to put them on her. I tried some on her before putting them in the diaper bag for a trip and she was very vocal about wanting them on. So, on they went. Then we met up with some friends in Santa Monica and had so much fun! It was so cute wathcing the kids together!

Campbell is all over Halloween. Everyday, he asks, "Is it Halloween today?" Friday night, while we watched the debate he sat on the computer and looked at Halloween costumes. It was so funny. He would click on a costume, then they had pictures of others you may like and he would click on those. I'm delaying buying his costume because his mind changes everyday. Last we heard he wants to be "Pokemon" but we have heard everything from Fireman, Batman, Speed Racer, to Superman. Tune in for the final decision. He's had a nosebleed issue at night recently. We are starting to run a humidifier and I think it is helping him.

And now for some pics:

And a quick video of steps I just took or rather a video I took of Cassie taking steps! Please excuse the mess!

Its the weekend!!

Well, poor Cassie had a tough week. She has about 5 teeth coming in. Her top front teeth have been working their way out for the last week or 2. Then she has 2 molars trying to poke out in addition to one other tooth trying to cut through. Needless to say she has not been a happy girl. On top of that she had her one year docs appt and all looked good but she received a couple shots. She has developed a bit of a cough this week and has a runny nose this morning.

Her stats:

Weight: 21 lb, 11 oz. 56%

Height: 30 in. 73%

Head: 18.6 in 94%

So her weight has slowed down a lot since she has always been at the top of the charts there.

All looked good at the doc!

I got my new camera on Monday! Still trying to figure it out as my pics are a little fuzzy. I think thats a setting that I haven't figured out. I may need to try some of the manual settings its just a little greek to me. Any shutterbugs have some ideas on what may need fixed? Anyway, not many pics of Cassidy because she wasn't a very happy subject this weekend. I did get some good ones of Campbell. I also am uploading a video of them together. Please forgive the awfullness of the camera operator but I thought some of you would like to see them in action.

A quiet Sunday...

Hi there!

Its been a while since I posted an update. Sorry about that, not taking as many pics with my camera right now and lets face it....That's really why you check this site out! I'm ordering a new camera for my birthday next week so hopefully the pics will be better soon!

We are doing good. Not much new with Campbell. Still doing the same ole same ole with him. One minute he is cracking Cassie up and the next he is making her scream. Isn't that what big brothers do? Cassie finally has some new teeth popping through. Looks like tooth number 3, a top front tooth finally popped through. And a bottom tooth may be cutting through soon and then it feels like maybe her molars are coming in but she's pretty stingy when it comes to showing her mouth. Needless to say, with new teeth coming in we deal with some crying fits. Walking still hasn't happened but she is taking steps. We're at about 2 or 3 at a time before she plops down.

Now for the pics. The not quite clear ones are from the video camera but they capture Cassie. The others are from Ryan's phone.

Campbell showing his muscles:

Cassie was determined to feed herself. Some of it might have gotten in her mouth:

On the tennis court:

In Ryan's basket of balls: She loved this and screamed when we took her out!

Ready for a nap with her paci and security blanket:

With her purse:

She discovered Campbell's rocking chair yesterday and LOVES it! She can't quite sit in it on her own yet so she goes and starts patting it and whining to let us know she wants on it. When she gets on, she starts rocking.

The Birthday Celebration

Its Saturday morning and the first birthday celebration is over. Cassie seemed to have a good time! It was a small celebration including us and Uncle Colt and Cooper. Cooper is the son of a friend of ours and Uncle Colt is keeping an eye on him for the weekend so that they could go out of town.

We began the night barbecueing burgers. After dinner, it was pretty late so we proceeded with everything. The kids wanted to do presents first so why not? Cooper and Campbell did most of the opening as Cassidy watched them entranced! She apparently did not want to put down the tennis toy Uncle Colt brought her! Cooper even brought a present for Campbell! That was so sweet of them. They got her a wooden bus pull toy that is also a shape sorter. I have to say she has spent a great deal of time with this toy since opening it! Another favorite is a toy vacuum cleaner. She loves the music it makes. We got this because she gets excited everytime we pull the vacuum out. One of my favorites is the charm bracelet Nana and Papa got her. This is an item that will grow with her over the years! She also got a purse and a doll. The purse is in hopes that she will quit emptying my wallet. Let me tell you, if she gets her hands on my wallet, she begins pulling everything(cards, money, etc) out and if you pull it away from her, she is quite vocal about what she thinks of that!

After the boys finished opening her presents, we got on with the cake. She at first didn't know what to thing but by the end had a great mess going on! I will let the pictures say all for that event!

After cake she went straight to the bathtub and got cleaned off. Dad hosed off the highchair while I hosed her down. I am a bit worried because when all done her face was a bit splotchy where the icing had been. I'm hoping this is not from an allergy. I have to look into what goes into the whipped frosting. Is there milk in it? She's been doing okay with milk I thought. Eggs? Will have to keep an eye on it. Her diapers were quite more frequent after the whipped cream she had on Thursday. After bath, she played briefly with her new toys before going to bed.
