Preschool Field Trip and Harvest Dinner....

And a miscellaneous picture because I thought it was cute!

This is a little backwards but I wanted to post a couple of these pics. Last weekend the preschool had their annual auction and dinner. They had a "carnival" for the kids and Campbell had a great time and hung out mostly with his "girlfriend," Ciela. We weren't planning on bidding on anything due to budget reasons but we picked up Campbell's class project after all because no one really bid on it. A little stool. Their classroom name is the "green frogs" The frogs on the stool are their fingerprints. Its cute and Cassie LOVES it. She is constantly sitting on it. Campbell was confused when we started taking it home. He told us it needed to go back in the classroom and we couldn't take it home!
Campbell wanted a pic on it:

She was very tired here:

Tuesday, we went with the preschool on their annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I didn't get a ton of pictures because I forgot to charge my battery. He hung out with his "girlfriend" most of the time. She even picked out his pumpkin for him! I tried to get a picture of them together but she wasn't cooperating and then my battery died.

Campbell is in the tractor:

His "girlfriend" and her mommy:

You can see Cass at the bottom watching them wondering how she can get up there!

Trick-or-Treat!

The kids had a great time last night! After getting dressed, we walked over to our next door neighbor's house and met up with a group and had a drink before Trick-or-Treating. It was fun watching the kids get there and checking each other's costumes out. I wondered how Cassie was going to do as I remember Campbell was quite scared for the first couple years and this was probably his first year he did not show any fear. Cass was mesmerized by everything! She really got into it! Campbell was really cute when we got there. He found a Star Wars book and an adult and had her reading it too him! He could have sat there for quite some time if I hadn't moved him along.

After a little protesting from Cass, I put her in a push car and off we all went trick-or-treating. It was really cute! After stepping away from each door, Campbell would yell, "Mommy, did you see what I got?!" I would tell him yes and be sure to say Thank you and so he would turn back and say "Thank you! Happy Halloween!" He got it on his own after a while! Once done, we came home and had some dinner and continued to give out candy to the Trick-or-Treaters. They both dug this too! It was so cute! Campbell liked checking out the costumes and would tell everyone they liked it and then wanted to give out the candy. He would sit at the screen door and just wait for someone to come and got so excited when they did. If someone would walk by, he would yell, "Who wants candy!?!" He was sad when the night ended and we had to take off his costume. Taking it off, he was soaked from being so hot in it but he would not take it off. About 8:45 we turned off the lights and had about 7 pieces of over 300 left. We are one of the neighborhoods around here that everyone drives into to trick-or-treat. Campbell woke this morning and said that he wants to go to Halloween again! Here is a little clip of Campbell as the night slowed...

Ojai Day and the Pumpkin Patch

So yesterday was Ojai day and we had a great time. I always love Ojai day. Its like a big block party in the middle of downtown and you always run into other friends and their families because its such a small town. Campbell jumped in the Jolly Jump and actually climbed the slide and went down it all by himself. It helped that there was another girl from his school doing it too and they would slide down together. This is a big deal for him as he has always been pretty scared of these things and we were kind of shocked seeing him slide down without one of us.

Last night Cassie did well. She woke at 1:30. I gave her blanket back to her and she went right back down. At 5:30 she woke again, I fed her and back down she went quietly till a bit before 8:00.

We went to the Farmer's Market this morning and picked up a basket of Raspberries that the kids proceeded to chow down while listening to a local fiddle band. While I sat with the kids listening to the music Ryan picked up some vegetables. We then went to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin to carve and a couple little ones. I did learn that next time I should not put Cass in light colored clothes because she got quite dirty! I apologize for going overboard on posting pictures but I love so many of them I have to share! It was great because I didn't have to place them in spots for pics most of the time! Cass just loved sitting on the pumpkins!

And for those that want to see all the pictures and pictures I've taken over the last couple weeks I am putting the link here:

An update on cry it out

Well, last night went much better than expected! I was so relieved as I was so tired last night.

She has been waking lately at 2:00 and did not wake until 3:30. Since I fell asleep in Campbell's bed at 9:30 I was rested and ready for it! Poor Cassie cried or rather screamed for half an hour. Then it got quiet and she cried off and on for about half an hour. At that time, I went in and gave her her paci and her blanket and she went to sleep. She woke again at 6:30. I nursed her and put her back in bed. She woke for the day at 8:45! I can't remember the last time she was in the bed that late!

So hopefully this will be the start of a new sleep pattern and tonight will be a little bit easier.

Today is Ojai day and its a big party downtown. They close the main road and have booths everywhere and music and games and jolly jumps and things set up so we will go there and spend some time!
