Latest happenings

I know, I am overdue an update! Everyone is asleep right now so I thought I would try to get a post going.

A couple weeks ago Campbell and I had a date to see Wall-E! It was fun since Ryan always gets to do the movies! I was worried about it being over his head and I think the beginning was slow for him but it picked up and he told me he liked it at the end.

Cassie has decided that she is done with baby food. I think its an independence thing and she wants to feed herself. She's doing good though with the foods I've given her so far. Her frequent foods are chicken and peas. Of course she LOVES to follow it up with Animal crackers.

Today we are planning to go to Chuck e Cheese. I am SO looking forward to that! Okay, maybe not but Campbell is begging to go b/c he wants to show us that he's not scared of mascots anymore. I'm hopefull but also won't be surprised if we get to the door and he decides he doesn't want to go in. He's been telling us he wants to go to GA to the baseball game and see the mascots again. We told him thats a long trip and we need to try Chuck E Cheese before we take trips to see other characters dressed up. Don't know what we will say when he does well today and then says he's ready to go to GA!

You can definately see that brother and sister relationship coming through with the 2 of them. One minute he's over protective of his sister and the next he's big time picking on her. Its really cute though b/c they are so happy to see each other when they wake up in the morning. Its awesome!

Finally, I am going to post some pics taken over the last 2 weeks:

Campbell, playing baseball. Yes, he's in his underwear ( Its not a fight I cared about winning that afternoon!)

Our trip to Atlanta Part 2

Some asked what I did with my free time. Honestly, not a whole bunch! I took a shower, drove around Rome and Berry College to check out what had changed, a brief nap and I painted my toenails.

That night we went to see the Rome Braves. Campbell had a good time. He enjoyed the ball park snacks and wanted to get down there and play ball with them. The mascots were right in front of us though and these scared him for a bit and even after he got ok with them from a distance, he always needed to know their location! Aunt Jill bought his first Dippin Dots for him! He is so picky on food appearances that it took quite some time to even try them. When he finally did he of course he didn't stop! I mean what kid doesn't like Dippin Dots!?
Here are some pics from the game!

The next day we drove out to Berry College and took pictures. For those who don't know, Berry is where Ryan and I went to school. I graduated there and Ryan transferred midway to Montana.

Here are some pics from the photo shoot:

After our Berry photo shoot, the kids got to spend some time with Ryan's Granny and PawPaw Gaston:

We got up Wednesday morning and drove to Duluth to meet up with my parents. It was my intention to not jam a bunch of activities in for this visit and spend time relaxing with my family and the kids. I guess I was a bit more interactive with this portion of the visit so I didn't have pics on my camera. I did manage to grab some of the pics on my camera. We went on walks to the park. We kind of let Cassie loose(with someone standing over her of course) on the slide and she had a blast! We took some professional portraits at Portrait Innovations. Here is the link to those shots for anyone who has not seen them:

On the 4th we spent some time at the pool and then my mom and I walked with the kids in their neighborhood 4th parade behind a fire truck. We also went and Campbell got to see fireworks for the first time! One minute he liked them the next he didn't. Overall, I think he enjoyed them as on the drive home he kept pointing out any he saw! Saturday morning, we got up and went to catch our flight. They had changed our flights again so we were a bit nervous about a tight connection in Chicago but fortunately all went fine. I will post pics from this portion of our visit in my next post!

We Made it to GA!

Well I sit here in Ryan's parents house all alone and I'm lost as to what to do so I thought I would post an update on our trip so far.

Friday night at 2:00 in the morning the phone rings and it's American telling us our flight will be delayed enough to cause us to miss our connection. So they have put us on the next flight simply leaving us a shorter connection. When planning my trips with the kids, I like to plan plenty of time at my conncetion but okay at least they've found a spot for us and we can sleep a little bit longer. So we wake up at 5:00 and get on the road. WE get to the parking lot we've reserved and there are no spots in the self park. Well we park ourselves in a valet spot and give them our keys and tell them where we are and we are on our way. Don't know if they appreciated that but hey we have a plane to catch and aren't going to waste time finding another lot. With some maneuvering we get ourselves and our plethora of belongings on the shuttle and get to the airport. Can I tell you that the American terminal is so unorganized and makes things ten times harder. It could be so much easier. Very stressfull but such a relief when our bags are taken and we just have the kids to keep up with. All in all the kids were great. I was a bit worried because Cassie had a fever and bad cough the day before and woke up with a bit of one but really did well overall. Campbell was wired and was so excited about flying. In fact, the day before he woke up and had a fit because we weren't leaving that day. His 3 year old mind couldn't process why we had to wait for the next day and couldn't go then. They both did great on the flights. Cassie slept a good bit and Campbell watched Peter Pan and Cars and talked constantly about everything and asked the never-ending question, "Why?" We were all so exhausted once we finally got ourselves to Rome. The kids have been having a great time with Grandma and PaPa Gaston.

Sunday morning we all slept in and then got ourselves dressed and off. We made a stop at a family friends the Clonts and visited for a bit. Their grandchild, Jebb(3.5) , was there and he and Campbell had fun together. Their property was so beautiful with all the fruit trees and creek running behind it. Campbell loved pulling the plums off the tree and eating them. After that we all loaded back up and drove to the Gaston's land in Cave Spring, GA. Here Campbell had a blast. He fished with his PaPa, rode the 4-wheeler with PaPa and Uncle Colt and rode PaPa's tractor with him. Campbell caught so many fish and when he woke up this morning asked to go fishing again. Daddy and Uncle Colt packed up and went fishing on the creek behind the Clont's house and Grandma and PaPa loaded up the kids and are heading back to the land to fish with Campbell again. I stayed behind and here I sit deciding what I am going to do with my afternoon. Not used to being all alone for this period of time. Tonight we will go to a Rome Braves game. I believe thats a minor league team? I will try to post some pics another time as we have a few and will post more updates about our trip later.

Happy Birthday Nana!

Today is my mother's birthday! Hope you're having a great day!

We spent some time today getting Libby ready for our trip. She got her shots today so that we can board her while we are in Atlanta. Cassie came along with me and had fun watching the dogs come in. Libby has a bit of an ear infection so its always a scene trying to treat her for that! It usually takes both Ryan and I. One of us holds her while the other one sticks the solution/ointment in her ear. We also dropped her off this morning to get her summer haircut! We are awaiting the call to tell us that we can go pick her up. I will have to post before and after pics when she is home!

Cassie's cold has turned from hoarse to wet. I'm so nervous she will get an ear infection just in time for the trip. Poor thing was having a time in the bed this morning. She's in good spirits though! Poor girl is still having poop issues. I guess we need to give her prunes on a regular basis. I had some cheese in my diet Sunday night. I did keep it minimal but she seems to have done fine. I hope this means maybe she's growing out of it! Please let it be so! I would love to have something covered in cheese! Thats the one thing I miss!

So a couple things I want to remember down the road. As many of you know, Campbell is a little cautious when it comes to things. It takes him a while to try new things and he gets scared easily. So I want to remember some new things he has tried in the last couple weeks.

The pool....He has been terrified of the pool. A couple weeks ago, I got us all packed up and took Cassie and Campbell with me to the pool. So we get there and I go to the kiddie pool b/c there's no way I'm going to brave the big pool my first time alone with both kids at the pool. So we get there and for an hour or so, Campbell just walks around the outside of the pool putting his feet or arms in but won't stand even though I have shown him he can stand. At least an hour later he decides he's ready to hold my hand and walk in the water! 30 minutes later he is putting his head under!! Now he is all about going under and he is so proud of himself. Last weekend I picked him up some goggles and he is dunking his head under nonstop. Now he still won't get in the big pool but thats a feat for when daddy can go with us!

His bike...Last Christmas, Nana and Papa Sullivan got Campbell a bike with training wheels. Well, this bike has been sitting in the garage b/c he is too scared to ride it. Last weekend he was ready to give it a try. He has had a time pushing the pedals but he is getting it. Tuesday night, we took it over to the park and he rode it around the track. He is doing great! I guess the key for us in these stories, is that we need to just let him do these things in his own time!

I'm busy mom!

This was funny because her foot was moving as she listened!

Never fear, Superman's here!

My little tennis pro!

My first blog post

So here we are. I'm going to try and start posting updates here on a regular basis. Campbell is 3 1/2 years old and Cassidy is 10 months.

Cassie is currently crawling and pulling up on everything. She lets go for very brief moments and then falls on her tush. She has a bit of a cold and is staying home with me today and is currently sleeping on me. Cassie goes to the nursery at the club in the mornings while I try to get work done. She loves going and watching all the kids play and adores Miss Regina.

Campbell is going to the preschool. He has a lot of fun there. Right now he is only there half days while I try to land some more clients. He's just finished potty training and is doing a great job! He is officially in big boy underwear 24 hours a day! He is all about super heroes and speed racer right now. He goes to bed with his speed racer cars every night.

Saturday will be our first trip home to Atlanta with all 4 of us! Campbell is so excited about it! I'm the queen of starting something and not finishing it so I'm going to try my best to keep updates here. I'm going to post a few pics in the next post.
